CO2 Vape Cartridges

CO2: A Tru Experience

CO2: A Tru Experience
Vape cartridges are a popular option for many patients. They are convenient, portable, and offer quick access to relief. At Trulieve, we offer a wide variety of strain-specific vape options made with pure cannabis oil from our quality TruFlower. You may have heard buzz about our CO2 vape cartridges. What is the difference between CO2 and non-CO2 vape cartridges, you ask? Keep reading to find out!

A Targeted Focus
There are two extraction methods that we use to pull molecules out of plants, a cold ethanol process and a CO2 process. The CO2 process allows us to target and extract specific molecules, such as terpenes. The result of the CO2 process is a solventless extraction of the cannabis terpenes that we blend into our pure cannabis oil to create CO2 vape cartridges. Our CO2 vape cartridges include cannabis-derived terpenes that are created without a cutting agent, giving these cartridges a smooth, clean draw.

Super Critical
Super Critical refers to “supercritical fluid” or a substance that acts like both a gas and a liquid at the same time. In our CO2 extraction process, the CO2 can specifically target compounds and profiles by permeating through the flower material as a gas while dissolving the targeted oil as a liquid. This means that we can extract only the desirable molecules, in this case, terpenes, without degrading their molecular profile in the process. As a result, our CO2 cannabis-derived terpenes have a rich flavor and aroma that you would expect from each specific strain.

Strain Nuance and Subtlety
Combined with such a specific and supercritical approach, CO2 can capture a full and robust range of terpenes. This is often the reason why CO2 medicines are described as having clear and unique flavors. CO2 vape cartridges also have a wonderfully hashy exhale and offer full-spectrum relief.

It is important to note that terpenes are molecularly the same, regardless of their source (D-Limonene is D-Limonene). Subtle differences can be detected in cannabis-derived terpenes and botanical terpenes, even though they are constructed using similar molecules. Cannabis-derived terpenes are closer to the specific strain in terms of their flavor and effect than their blended botanical terpenes. While the differences are nuanced on a molecular level, many patients experience subtle differences in CO2 and non-CO2 medicines. We recommend trying both options to see which you prefer, as effects may vary from patient to patient.
