Pennsylvania Department of Health Recall

To Our Valued Patients & Caregivers:

 

On February 4, 2022, the Pennsylvania Department of Health announced a mandatory recall of vaporized medical marijuana products containing added ingredients. This recall included the majority of vape cartridges sold in Pennsylvania, all of which had been previously approved by the PA DOH.

The health and well-being of our patients is Trulieve’s number one priority. We are complying with the recall and have quarantined all products named in the recall list. Trulieve and its affiliates have always complied with all PA DOH regulations and approval procedures, and do not have any reason to believe these products pose a threat to patient health and safety. In some cases, they have been approved for years and the PA DOH has never indicated that there is a health or safety concern associated with them. 

 

What products sold through Trulieve have been recalled?

The full list of affected products provided by the Department of Health can be found here: Withdraw of Products Containing Additives Not Approved for Inhalation by the FDA.

The list includes Moxie Branded Liquid Vape Cartridges and Dart Pods manufactured and distributed by PurePenn, LLC, as well as Modern Flower Distillate Vape Cartridges manufactured and distributed by Franklin Labs, LLC. Effective immediately, these products are no longer available for sale at any Trulieve-affiliated dispensaries and have been removed from all locations.

 

Can I return these products?

  • Yes. Patients who wish to return their vape products should take the following steps:
  • Return the unopened or partially used product to the same dispensary location where purchased.
  • You must bring the product along with the original packaging.  A receipt is preferred if available. 
  • A store credit for the product purchase price will be issued.
  • The 30-day return window does not apply for products included in the mandatory recall list.
  • Patients will be refunded the purchase price of any items returned. We cannot offer discounts at this time.   

Due to regulatory requirements, products must be returned to the same location where purchased. If you purchased one of these products at former Harvest, Solevo, or Keystone location, they will need to be returned to the same dispensary location, now branded as Trulieve.
